Project One: Artists Use Abstraction
"Psychedelic"

This Project was inspired by a painting I had in my bedroom as a child. while it wasn't abstract it also had bright colors and three panels. I wanted to do a three panel project because my aunt creates lots of three panel paintings, and we have lots of them hanging around my house. To create this painting I used acrylic paint. I applied the paint on canvas with a pallet knife. Which was a new technique that I decided to try out. The viewer of this piece is meant to feel happy when they look at it, and I hope they can love the piece as much as I have come to love it through the creation process.
Project Two: Artists Solve Real World Problems
"IKEA Spoon"

The objective of this project was to create an innovative product, that would solve a common problem. I created a simple serving spoon with a small notch on the handle that prevent the spoon from falling into the bowl, and getting dirty. this tiny innovation can make a big impact, and keep hands clean. I used clay for this project, and even though I had pretty significant struggles keeping my spoons intact I really enjoyed making them.
Project Three: Artists Express and Tell Stories
"Mr Cloud"
Acrylic on Canvas Paper

This Project tells a story. The inspiration story is a fun tale about a sad little cloud. Mr sad cloud was perpetually hovering over Timmy, casting gloom on his entire life. Timmy simply couldn't stand it, and sought out some way to make Mr. cloud happy. Timmy finally resolves the issue by gifting Mr. cloud a red balloon, and he's finally happy. I painted this project on canvas paper, and used sharpies, and pens to create the outlines. The piece was incredibly fun to create, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Project Four: Artists are Activists
"It Kills"
Acrylic on Canvas Paper

This project was an activism project. I chose a topic that I'm passionate about and made an art piece that reflects my feelings on it. The Topic I chose was smoking, and how it has a negative affect on everyone around it. the words "IT KILLS" are painted along the cigarette, and the edges of the page are burned as a sort of way to represent the harm your doing to your body by smoking.
